Luke grew up in the wicked streets of East Plymouth, where he was better known by his street/rapper alias MC MathemaTron. Luke always knew that even though he never grew up in the ghetto that the ghetto lived on in his heart. The only positive way to express that burden was through his music.
In the late 80's, Luke started his own rap group dubbed Mad Math Klik - MMK, after his favorite subject in school. It was in the classroom where he met his partner & lifelong friend Floyd, aka DJ Kickstand, nicknamed for his wooden leg. The two used rap as an escape, a way to deal with all the pain, such as too much homework & the cancellation of Growing Pains. They soon released their first single Meetz tha I. The single had a good beat and catchy lyrics:
MC MathemaTron came to defeat all you Decepticons / And destroy Unicron with a megaton bomb / Before he can change Megatron into Galvatron / Word to your mom
It was only by coincidence that Luke met his idol LL Cool J at a local radio station WHYT. LL heard the MMK single and decided after a few memorized freestyles to sign Luke on as one of his infamous ghostwriters. Luke wrote several hits for LL including Around the Way Girl, Pink Cookies in a Plastic Bag, and many battle raps such as the now legendary Jack the Ripper - a well written dis against Kool Moe Dee's How Ya Like Me Now.
It was only a matter of time before LL's popularity faded and he had to fire half of his ghostwriting staff in order to pursue a mediocre at best acting career. Luke was one of those fired. Luke hit rock bottom in the following years to come. Since Luke left, DJ Kickstand quit rap to become a Junior Shift Manager at the local Taco Bell. Luke resorted to graffiti and lowering Impalas in order to maintain. That's when Erik stepped in.
Recognizing Luke's vocal talent & smooth stee-lo on the guitar, Erik asked Luke to join the venture known as Room 204. Luke gave it a shot, and the rest is history.
